VinFast is new here. That cuts both ways.
The VF6 and VF7 are well equipped and both carry a five-star Bharat NCAP rating. They are also built by a company that only started selling cars in India in 2025, on a service network that is still filling in. Early owners are reporting things. Restraint system faults. Tyre pressure sensors that stop reporting a wheel. A wireless charging pad that quits a minute in. Lag on the one screen that runs the entire cabin.
None of that means do not buy one. It means do not take delivery blind.
This is the VinFast PDI, for the VF6, VF7 and VF MPV 7. Over 70 checkpoints for the car standing in front of you, and the VinFast-specific ones nobody else is looking at.
The airbag self-test. Everyone checks whether a warning light is on. Nobody checks whether it came on when it should have. Power up and watch the SRS symbol: it should light, then go out. A restraint light that never illuminates at all is not a car passing its self-test. It is a car not running one, and a glance at the dashboard reads that as normal.
The tyre pressure sensors. A dead TPMS sensor usually throws no warning at all. It just stops reporting that wheel. You want four numbers on the screen, not an absence of orange.
The home charger box. If you paid extra for the faster wall unit, open the box before you leave the showroom. One owner had the installer drill the holes, mount the unit on the wall, and only then ask where the RFID key was.
The V Green charging benefit. It is tied to your account and it has to be switched on. Ask them to show it live in the app, not point at the brochure.
All of it runs on your phone at the dealership. Pick your model, walk the car, mark pass or fail, photograph anything wrong. You leave with a PDF report carrying your findings, your photos, and a verdict.
